Whether Hedi Slimane is featuring shaggy-haired indie musicians or doe-eyed models, his Saint Laurent campaigns are more than straightforward advertisements. The monochromatic portraits double as introductions to the next big things in the worlds of fashion, music, and film. We can always count on Slimane to round up the newest crop of cool kids, and the stars of his latest men’s campaign boast some impressive Hollywood connections. Last night Saint Laurent announced 17-year-old Dylan Brosnan as the new face of the brand’s permanent men’s collection. Reportedly discovered by Slimane in Malibu last summer, the film student is the son of actor Pierce Brosnan and journalist Keely Shaye Smith. He joins fellow California teenager Jack Kilmer (son of Val), who was announced as a campaign face last week. While they might both be celebrity progeny, they’re clearly budding stars in their own right. Brosnan is a musician, and Kilmer starred in the Gia Coppola film Palo Alto earlier this year. Not to mention, Kilmer’s already walked for Slimane in his Spring 2015 psych-rock runway show. Since Slimane has a reputation for recruiting his new faces for the runway, keep an eye out for the rising duo come Fall ’15. In the meantime, get a look at the campaign here. |
During the menswear show for Spring/Summer 2015, Saint Laurent showcased several women's silhouettes on the Carreau du Temple runway, from the PSYCH ROCK collection. Exclusively for Vogue.fr, Hedi Slimane unveils a series of his own photographs, capturing the Sixties-inspired collection that pays tribute to the psychedelic rock music movement of the era. |
