Just Jaeckin - Photographer & Director
Quote:
Just Jaeckin (August 8, 1940, Vichy, Allier) is a French film director. Early life He was born in Vichy France during the Second World War, but left with his mother and father for England. Following the end of hostilities, he returned to France where he studied art and photography, before and after serving with the French Army: while with the army, he shot photographs to commission. Film career Jaeckin debuted with Emmanuelle in 1974, starring Sylvia Kristel, a French softcore film which begat a series. In 1975 he directed Histoire d'O (English title: Story of O), starring Corinne Cléry. The film met with far less acclaim than the book. It was banned in the United Kingdom by the British Board of Film Censors until February 2000. A version of Lady Chatterley's Lover (1981) followed. Featuring Sylvia Kristel, Shane Briant and Nicholas Clay. The film gained widespread publicity owing to its explicit nature, but received generally poor reviews and was only a moderate commercial success. The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak (original title Gwendoline) was released in 1984, starring Tawny Kitaen. The film is loosely based on the bondage-themed comics of John Willie and on the figure of Gwendoline. François Schuiten worked as a graphic designer for the movie. A 1986 article in the Los Angeles Times linked Jaeckin and actress Mary Louise Weller to "an upcoming French film." Jaeckin later retired from making films. He lives in France with his wife Anne and continues to do photography and sculpture. Sébastien Meyer & Arnaud Vaillant Named Artistic Directors Of Courrèges
Quote:
Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant have been named artistic directors of womenswear at Courrèges, the brand known for its space-age effect on fashion. The pair previously ran their own label, Coperni , which they will put on hold while they focus on their new roles - even though it is among the eight finalists selected for the forthcoming LVMH Prize. "They are incredibly talented. They have run their own firm, which means they consider both the creative and commercial aspect of what they do - the wearability of their clothes," Jacques Bungert, co-owner and co-president of Courrèges along with Frederic Torloting, told WWD. "They are passionate about fabrics and fabrications, which is clear from their work and matters a lot to us, because at Courrèges, fabric is king." The duo will showcase their first collection for the brand for spring/summer 2016, although in what capacity it's not yet known. They are the first official designers to take on the brand since Andre Courrèges and his wife Coqueline sold it in 2011.In the interim, there have been collaborations with Eastpak, Evian and Estée Lauder and collections have been created by an in-house team - a mini return to Paris Fashion Week was made last season. "There is one fundamental in the work of André and Coqueline Courrèges that touches us in particular: youth. It gives us strength to believe that with Courrèges, anything is possible, even the most ambitious dreams," said the design duo. Focus for the label will now be on expanding its retail presence as well as taking back its perfume license. Meyer and Vaillant, 26 and 25 respectively, already boast a successful fashion CV, having scooped last year's ANDAM First Collections Prize as well as the aforementioned LVMH nod. |

Elle Japon - July 1986 - Michelle Eabry
I recently moved back to Tokyo and just today discovered an old shop not far from my apartment. They sell old Japanese fashion magazines for about two dollars each.
I picked up an Elle Japan May 1986 edition with Michelle Eabry on the cover. Love how the paper feels so different to today's glossy finishes. It has a matte texture to the pages.
I've had to Dropbox the pictures just roughly (until I can scan them) so if anyone can help me with identifying models, I'd appreciate it. Dropbox let's you comment now so it's the ideal solution. The other credits - stylist, hair and make-up I can get from the Japanese text.
The photos are just iPad camera shots so I will scan them in due course. I had to leave quite a few pages out because I have to go out again.

Anyone who can spare the time to identify the models (apart from Michelle Eabry, Stephanie Seymour & Elle Macpherson) would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
