Huaraches Sandals Trend, Coming or Going?

In the past 5 years Huarache sandals have been proposed by many fashion designers, but as they continue to inspire even the big fashion labels....

is the trend for this woven footwear destined to peak or fade?

The commercial success of Huaraches in the 80's first inspired Hush Puppies.

More recently Jeffery Campbell revived this footwear style and was followed by a long list of fashion labels from around the world.

Brands that included the worlds oldest fashion house Lanvin that introduced a line of woven Huaraches in their Summer 2011 collection.

Newcomers like Armando Cabral

and established designers like Giuseppe Zanotti alike, presented their Huarache design interpretations as this Italo-Thai colaboration for Thakoon.

Tory Burch.

Dolce and Gabbana.

úkata...The list goes on.

This season Crocs has also released a Huaraches line of womens footwear.

So what about next season in 2014? Will Huaraches continue to be commercial?

As part of the site's makeover, there are new options for you!


Albums allow you to store and retrieve your uploaded images independently of external hosts. You can access albums under the Community tab in the menu bar at the top of each forum page.

Social Groups allow you to create your own circles to discuss subjects of interest. You can access Social Groups under the Community tab, as well.

Profile Styling allows you to customize your profile. You can use an image from one of your albums as a background/wallpaper image, and you can customize fonts, borders, and background colors. Profile Styling can be found in your User CP in the Your Profile tab.

Have fun exploring these new options!

The news follows rampant speculation that the "Countdown" songbird was pregnant, even as the couple remained tight-lipped about their ever-growing family.

Rumors first began churning that the Grammy winner was with child when, earlier this month, she walked the red carpet at the Met Gala wearing a custom-made Givenchy gown that deftly concealed her stomach, its bodice cinched high above the waist just as its intricate pattern made it difficult to discern any change in her silhouette.

Speculation then went into overdrive Tuesday after Beyoncé was forced to cancel her Mrs. Carter Show performance in Antwerp, Belgium, after doctors advised her to rest "as a result of dehydration and exhaustion."

The 31-year-old recently spoke out about the possibility of giving 1-year-old Blue Ivy a sibling, telling ABC News that she "would like more children" and explaining that she thinks her daughter "needs some company."

Looks like that company is coming sooner rather than later.

Congrats to the happy family!

West Lothian, Scotland shopping

I'm currently staying near Livingston, West Lothian. The town consists mostly for malls, so I thought the area deserved a thread!

I'm going to the Almondvale Centre this afternoon. Expect much parading of my finds.

McArthur Glen is very good for discounted things, although a lot f the shops are dedicated to second-tier "designers". I particularly like Tommy Hilfiger, Levi's, and Gap there. LK Bennett is mostly too old for me, but I've found two very nice items there, a blazer and some black flats.

The Almondvale Centre has all the typical high street stuff - ranging from the nadirs (Internacionale...) to the blue chips of the UK high street (Topshop, H&M). The H&M is two storeys - I've only had the chance to explore one, but I'm going to hit it hard this afternoon.
