A nervous habit - or the secret to looking perfect in every picture? Miranda Kerr and her 'nonchalant' hand-to-hair signature pose

From Tyra Banks 'smize' to Karlie Kloss' arched-eyebrow glare and Cindy Crawford's open-mouth pout, a model's pose has the power to transform fashion into the ultimate fantasy.
And Miranda Kerr, with 17 years of experience under her belt, seems to have solidified her own signature look - outside of her trademark dimples.
Whether she's posing for a magazine cover, smiling for paparazzi or on the red carpet, the 30-year-old former Victoria's Secret Angel, whose career began after winning an Australian modeling competition at age 13, never fails to put a hand to her glossy hair.'Whether she is sticking to what works or it's a self-conscious habit, she probably thinks she looks best like that and does it for every picture,' explained one New York-based model who asked not to be named.
The 25-year-old added: 'I always pose in three-quarter because my face doesn't look so good straight on. And I smile with my top and bottom teeth in candid shots because I know it looks sweeter than when I smile with just my top teeth.
'Miranda Kerr is a supermodel version of that.'
On the latest cover of Vogue Korea, Ms Kerr poses topless in high-waisted underpants and a Proenza Schouler leather jacket. Ever so delicately, she puts her right hand to hair.
And for Net-a-Porter's new swimsuit issue of The Edit, she body icon also poses with her right hand perched on her tousled locks.
Whether people within the industry encourage the trademark pose is unclear, but it is not going unnoticed by photographers.
Bonnie Biess, a photographer commissioned by photo agency Getty to trail the supermodel last week, said that she 'repeatedly caught Miranda's arm randomly floating in the air about to touch her hair.'
While brushing hair of your face - a combination of nerves and flirtation - is usually a staple of a promising date, according to Janine Driver, the award-winning authorof Human Lie Detector; it also helps call attention to and frame your face.
There is no denying that Ms Kerr, a mother-of-one and model powerhouse, knows how much her signature pose is worth.
Last week Ms Kerr took the last spot on Forbes‘ 2013 Celebrity Top 100 list, an annual ranking of the most powerful celebrities.
And last year, she was named the world's seventh most well-paid model, earning $4 million from May 2011 to May 2012.
